Vintage Rose on Ivory Viscose Dress Fabric

Pink and red roses with taupe and olive foliage trailing across an ivory ground, printed in a soft, faded palette that looks like an old furnishing chintz. There is a slubby texture to the base cloth that adds to the effect.

This is a lightweight viscose in a 60-inch (152cm) width. It drapes softly, breathes well in heat and gathers into a full skirt without adding bulk at the waist, which is why it works so well for summer dressmaking.

What to make with it: Suits tea dresses, blouses, wide trousers, scarves and lightweight summer jackets.

The reason viscose costs slightly less than cotton but often looks more expensive made up is the drape. It falls in soft vertical folds rather than standing away from the body, which flatters gathered and tiered shapes in a way stiffer cloth cannot.

  • Fabric: Viscose
  • Width: 60 inches / approx. 152cm
  • Print: Vintage Rose on Ivory
  • Price: £7.49 per metre
  • Sold by: the metre, cut as one continuous length

We suggest pre-washing before you cut and sew. Fabric is sold by the metre and cut in one continuous length, so multiple metres arrive as a single piece. If you are matching this to another fabric in the range, order samples of both and compare them side by side in daylight.

Fabric Information
We do our best to accurately identify and describe all fabrics based on our experience within the textile industry, supplier information, and customer feedback. As some fabrics are sourced from various suppliers and may not always come with detailed manufacturing specifications, exact fibre compositions cannot always be guaranteed. Any composition information provided should therefore be considered our best estimate unless otherwise stated. If you require precise composition details for a particular application, please contact us before purchasing and we will do our best to assist. Fabric can be used for Blouses, Dresses, Asian suites.

International Orders
We proudly ship worldwide. While international delivery costs can be higher than UK shipping, larger orders often offer much better value, as the shipping cost is spread across more metres of fabric. Many of our overseas customers choose to combine multiple prints in one order to make delivery more economical.

Care Instructions
To help minimise shrinkage and ensure the best results, we recommend washing or pre-treating the fabric before cutting and sewing. As with many natural and regenerated fibres, slight shrinkage may occur after the first wash. Always test a small piece where possible and follow suitable washing instructions for your intended use.
