Multicolour Ditsy on Ivory Viscose Dress Fabric

Minute purple, red, mustard and navy flower heads scattered across an ivory ground with plenty of space between them. Small enough that it reads as texture, varied enough that it pairs with almost anything.

The cloth is a drapey viscose, 60 inches (152cm) across, cool to wear and light enough for layering. It sews best with a fine needle and a little patience at the cutting table, and the results are worth it on flowing shapes.

What to make with it: Ideal for blouses, wide-leg trousers, wrap dresses, scarves and lightweight summer layers.

Because viscose is a regenerated cellulose fibre it breathes like cotton while draping like silk, which is an unusual combination at this price. It is the reason so many summer dress patterns specify viscose, rayon or challis on the back of the envelope.
