Peach & Blue Cottage Floral Cotton Dress Fabric

Peach and periwinkle-blue flowers with olive foliage scattered over a white ground in loose sprays. A gentle, traditional cottage-garden print with a slightly retro palette.

The base is a light cotton woven at 60 inches (about 152cm) wide, so you get considerably more usable cloth per metre than the 44-inch quilting cottons most UK shops stock. It presses to a sharp crease and holds a gathered seam without collapsing.

What to make with it: Works for summer dresses, blouses, nightwear, quilting and children's clothing.

The width is worth planning around. At 60 inches you can often lay a full circle skirt or a pair of wide trousers on a single width, which saves both cloth and the awkward centre-back seam that narrower fabrics force on you.

We recommend washing or pre-treating the fabric before you cut, as some shrinkage is normal on the first wash of any natural or regenerated fibre. The fabric is sold by the metre: order quantity 1 for one metre, 2 for two metres, and the length is cut as one continuous piece rather than separate cuts.
