Vintage Rose Cotton Dress Fabric
A classic scattered rose print in pink, coral and yellow with green foliage, offered across cream, candy pink and pale blue grounds. The three colourways share the same drawing, so they layer and patch together well.
It is printed on a lightweight summer-weight cotton, 60 inches (roughly 152cm) wide, which is broad enough that most dress bodices and skirt panels cut from a single width with very little waste. The cloth has a dry, crisp handle straight off the roll and softens noticeably after the first wash.
What to make with it: Suits sundresses, blouses, aprons, quilting, bunting and children's clothing.
The 60-inch width is the main practical reason to buy cotton here rather than from a high-street haberdashery. Most printed cottons in the UK are sold at 44 inches, which means an extra half metre or more on a full skirt; at this width you usually cut the same garment from noticeably less cloth.

We recommend washing or pre-treating the fabric before you cut, as some shrinkage is normal on the first wash of any natural or regenerated fibre. The fabric is sold by the metre: order quantity 1 for one metre, 2 for two metres, and the length is cut as one continuous piece rather than separate cuts.

As with many natural and regenerated fibres, slight shrinkage may occur after the first wash. Always test a small piece where possible and follow suitable washing instructions for your intended use.
