Olive & Taupe Ditsy Floral Cotton Dress Fabric
A dense scattering of tiny stylised blooms and trailing stems, offered in two grounds: a warm olive green and a softer taupe-on-white. The motif is small enough to read almost as a texture from a distance, which keeps it flattering across a full skirt or a gathered sleeve.
It is printed on a lightweight summer-weight cotton, 60 inches (roughly 152cm) wide, which is broad enough that most dress bodices and skirt panels cut from a single width with very little waste. The cloth has a dry, crisp handle straight off the roll and softens noticeably after the first wash.
What to make with it: It suits tiered midi dresses, blouses, wide-leg trousers and children's clothing, and the muted palette works as easily in autumn as it does in high summer.
The 60-inch width is the main practical reason to buy cotton here rather than from a high-street haberdashery. Most printed cottons in the UK are sold at 44 inches, which means an extra half metre or more on a full skirt; at this width you usually cut the same garment from noticeably less cloth.
- Fabric: Cotton

We recommend washing or pre-treating the fabric before you cut, as some shrinkage is normal on the first wash of any natural or regenerated fibre. Fabric Information
We do our best to accurately identify and describe all fabrics based on our experience within the textile industry, supplier information, and customer feedback. As some fabrics are sourced from various suppliers and may not always come with detailed manufacturing specifications, exact fibre compositions cannot always be guaranteed. Any composition information provided should therefore be considered our best estimate unless otherwise stated. If you require precise composition details for a particular application, please contact us before purchasing and we will do our best to assist. Fabric can be used for dresses, blouses or Asian suites.
We proudly ship worldwide. While international delivery costs can be higher than UK shipping, larger orders often offer much better value, as the shipping cost is spread across more metres of fabric. Many of our overseas customers choose to combine multiple prints in one order to make delivery more economical.
Care Instructions
To help minimise shrinkage and ensure the best results, we recommend washing or pre-treating the fabric before cutting and sewing. As with many natural and regenerated fibres, slight shrinkage may occur after the first wash. Always test a small piece where possible and follow suitable washing instructions for your intended use.
