Purple & Olive Jacquard Brocade Fabric

A woven floral damask where deep purple motifs sit against an olive-toned ground, giving this colourway a two-tone shot effect that changes as the fabric moves.

A true woven jacquard brocade at 60 inches (152cm) wide. The raised motif gives the surface depth that no print can match, and the firm handle means it supports a collar, a waistband or a fitted bodice on its own.

What to make with it: Works for occasionwear, Asian suits, jackets, waistcoats and structured evening pieces.

Jacquard carries its own structure, which changes how you sew it. You can often skip the interfacing you would need on a lighter cloth, and seams press flat and stay flat. It is the reason waistcoats, structured bodices and tailored jackets are so much easier in this fabric than in a printed cotton.
