Rose Pink Jacquard Brocade Fabric

The floral damask woven in a warm rose pink, the raised motif shifting between matt and satin as the cloth moves. Soft without being pale.

This is a woven jacquard rather than a printed cloth, which means the design is built into the fabric on the loom and will not fade, crack or wash out. It comes 60 inches (about 152cm) wide and has real body to it.

What to make with it: Suits occasion dresses, bridesmaid outfits, waistcoats, jackets and formal skirts.

The practical difference between a woven jacquard and a printed fabric matters more than it sounds. A print sits on the surface and will eventually rub, fade or crack; a woven pattern is structural, so it lasts as long as the cloth does. That is why brocade is the traditional choice for occasion garments meant to be kept.

We recommend washing or pre-treating the fabric before you cut, as some shrinkage is normal on the first wash of any natural or regenerated fibre. The fabric is sold by the metre: order quantity 1 for one metre, 2 for two metres, and the length is cut as one continuous piece rather than separate cuts.
