Forest Spot Arabian Crepe

Large soft edged spots in forest and sage green scattered across a silver grey ground. The green varies within each spot rather than sitting flat, so the print has depth to it and avoids the printed-on look you get with a hard edged dot.

A large scale spot is a rare thing to find on a crepe. Most printed crepe is florals or small repeats, so if you want something graphic and simple there is not much competing with this.

The spots sit at mixed intervals with no direction to them, so nothing needs cutting one way. Because the scale is large, lay your pieces out before you cut and check a spot does not land somewhere unfortunate.

Green and grey is also easy to work with. It pairs with black, cream, charcoal or denim without hunting for a match.

This is a heavier crepe with a smooth, almost silky face and a fine grain you feel before you see. It has the weight to hang properly and hold a shape, and it comes out of a bag without creasing, which is why it has become the standard choice for abayas.

60 inches wide, sold in metres and cut as one continuous length. Order three metres and it arrives as a single three metre piece, not three separate cuts.

What to make with it: Abayas, kameez, winter dresses, longline skirts, tailored trousers, kimono jackets, headscarves.

Before you cut: No pre-washing needed. Find the selvedge and square your pieces off it, because the grain texture can fool the eye. Universal needle, ordinary stitch length.

Care: Machine wash cool, hang to dry, and it drops out without ironing most of the time. Press on a low synthetic setting with a cloth in between if you need to. Do not tumble dry.
