Blue & Gold Sunburst Satin Jacquard Fabric

Radiating gold and apricot petal bursts on a slate-blue satin ground, drawn in an art-deco fan arrangement with a strong metallic quality to the woven highlights.

This is a satin-faced jacquard at 60 inches (152cm) wide, with a smooth, lustrous surface and enough weight to hang cleanly. It has the look of silk with the practicality of a man-made fibre.

What to make with it: Strong on evening dresses, jackets, waistcoats, cushion covers and statement panels.

It sits between a heavy brocade and a plain satin in both weight and price, which makes it a useful default for occasion sewing when you want the pattern but not the stiffness. Press on the reverse through a cloth to avoid shining the satin face.
